NBEMS Sets Guinness World Record for AI in Healthcare Live Stream

“The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has made global headlines after officially securing a Guinness World Record for hosting the highest-ever viewership of a live-streamed lesson on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare.

The milestone was achieved during a nationwide online training programme livestreamed on YouTube, designed to educate and upskill registered medical practitioners on AI applications in clinical practice. The session drew a peak concurrent viewership of 17,999 participants, marking it as the largest audience for such a specialised healthcare lesson in the history of the platform.

Organised under the auspices of India’s Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the initiative highlights the growing importance of digital transformation and technology literacy within the medical community. Experts say the record illustrates both the rapid adoption of emerging technologies in healthcare and the strong demand among professionals to better understand how AI can improve patient outcomes.

The programme forms part of a broader, free six-month training curriculum that covers multiple modules delivered by leading institutions, offering doctors a deeper insight into cutting-edge tools shaping the future of medicine. Guinness World Records adjudicators officially verified the feat after reviewing viewership data from the livestream.

This achievement not only sets a global benchmark in digital medical education but also positions India as a leader in scaling AI literacy across its healthcare workforce.Officials emphasised that the record is not just about numbers, but about fostering meaningful technological integration in healthcare delivery nationwide.”
