Slovak Duo Shatters 50+ Mixed Team Compound Archery World Record in Antalya

Slovak compound archers Jozef Bosansky and Petra Kocutova made history at the 2026 European Outdoor Championships on Tuesday by breaking the 50+ mixed team qualification world record with a combined score of 1353 points.

The achievement, now officially ratified, eclipsed the previous world record of 1342, which had been set by Korea’s Choi Na Mi and Jang Ho Sik during the Pilsen 2023 World Archery Para Championships.

Bosansky celebrated the milestone on social media, expressing his excitement over the accomplishment.

“I wouldn’t have believed it would happen again… with Petra, we broke the world record in the 50+ category!” he wrote.

The record-breaking performance adds another remarkable chapter to Bosansky’s decorated career. The Slovak archer, who turned 50 just a week before the event, previously claimed compound men’s gold at the Krakow-Malopolska 2023 European Games.

Kocutova has also established herself as one of the leading competitors in the 50+ category, highlighted by her victory at the prestigious Nîmes Indoor Tournament in 2023.

Bosansky’s Antalya success did not stop there. Just two days after his 50th birthday, he set two additional world records in the category. He posted a new 50-metre round world record score of 710, along with a double round world record of 1416.

The trio of records underscores the exceptional form of the Slovak veteran archer and marks a memorable moment for Slovak archery on the international stage.
