From Rock Bottom to World Record — ADHD Mentor Brings Life-Changing Talk to Telford

A remarkable story of resilience and transformation is headed to Telford this March as Andy Stone, a Guinness World Record-holding neurodiversity and wellbeing mentor, prepares to deliver a powerful talk on ADHD, mental health and life-changing strategies.

Stone’s life journey reads like an extraordinary testament to perseverance. After years of struggling with ADHD and autism, battling addiction to alcohol and cocaine, enduring depression and even contemplating suicide, he ultimately turned his life around and now uses his experience to help others.

In June 2022, Stone achieved an incredible physical and mental feat by completing 70 half-Ironman triathlons in just 75 days — covering the equivalent distance from London to Beijing — to secure his place in the Guinness World Records.

His upcoming talk, titled The Science of ADHD and the Six Pillars of Health, will take place on Monday, March 9 at The Wakes, Theatre Square in Oakengates, Telford. Stone plans to share his lived experience, explain the neuroscience behind ADHD, and outline practical lifestyle strategies that helped him harness his brain’s unique wiring as a strength rather than a flaw.

Stone said he spent decades not understanding why his brain worked differently, and only when he gained insight into ADHD did everything begin to change — a message he hopes will resonate with everyone from individuals with neurodivergent traits to parents, carers and educators.

Alongside his speaking and mentoring work, Stone also works as a professional shark diver and is the subject of the award-winning documentary Substance Abuse to Superhuman, which has earned more than 24 film festival honours.
