Ola Electric has sent shockwaves through the global two-wheeler market with the showcase of its superbike prototype, the Diamondhead, at the company’s annual Sankalp event. The futuristic electric motorcycle, which features a groundbreaking design and a claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 2 seconds, is set to be the flagship product of Ola’s “India Inside” vision.
The Diamondhead, which has a target launch date of mid-2027, is more than just a concept. It is engineered to redefine the superbike segment with its staggering performance and advanced technology. The bike is powered by Ola’s indigenously developed “Bharat Cell 4680” battery, which is expected to reduce costs and improve energy efficiency, providing a major competitive edge.
While the price of the Diamondhead has not been officially confirmed, Ola has stated its ambitious target to price the bike under ₹5 lakh (ex-showroom). If achieved, this would make high-performance electric superbikes accessible to a much wider audience and could revolutionize the industry.
Beyond its raw speed, the Diamondhead prototype is loaded with features usually found on ultra-premium machines, including hub-centered steering, a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and what the company calls “active ergonomics” and a “Smart AR helmet” for a fully integrated riding experience.
The Diamondhead is a bold statement from Ola, which has already established itself as a leader in India’s electric scooter market. It signals the company’s intent to not only dominate the electric two-wheeler space but also to challenge global leaders with high-tech, high-performance vehicles developed and manufactured entirely in India.
