“World’s Longest Playable Flute Sets New Global Record”

In a grand celebration of the 75th Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav and the Pilibhit Bansuri Mahotsav 2021, the District Magistrate Office of Pilibhit organized a spectacular world record event on 19th December 2021. Under the leadership of Mr. Pulkit Khare, District Magistrate of Pilibhit, the world’s longest playable flute was crafted and showcased at Drummond Government Inter College, Pilibhit.

The record-breaking flute measures an impressive 16.06 feet in length with a diameter of 30mm. Made using traditional Dholu Bamboo, the flute was skillfully designed and constructed in just 15 days by renowned flutist Raess Ahmed from the Gold Rush Flute Team.

The event received strong support from Mr. K.P. Singh, Nodal Officer for the Longest Flute Making Project, and Dr. Parvinder Singh Sahmey, Administrator of Ben-Hur Public School, marking a unique cultural milestone for the region and India’s musical heritage.

This extraordinary feat not only highlights the rich tradition of Indian bamboo flute craftsmanship but also reinforces the spirit of innovation and cultural pride during this historic year of India’s independence celebrations.
