Towering at an astonishing 14 meters in height and 9 meters in width, the toilet sculpture is a playful yet striking landmark that combines creativity, humor, and engineering.
The massive installation was designed by contemporary artist Liu Wei, who collaborated with structural engineers to ensure both stability and accuracy in replicating the details of a standard toilet at a massive scale. Constructed using reinforced concrete and steel, the sculpture is built to withstand the elements while serving as an iconic public art piece.
Commissioned as part of Chongqing’s Public Art Festival, the giant toilet is intended to celebrate creativity, provoke conversation, and attract tourists with its unusual charm. Officials confirmed that this installation surpasses all previous records for toilet-themed sculptures worldwide.
