₹23 Crore Buffalo from Haryana Steals Spotlight at Pushkar Mela with Royal Lifestyle

At the globally renowned Pushkar Mela, which began on 30 October 2025, all eyes weren’t just on the camels and horses this year. The real star was Anmol, a massive 1,500 kg buffalo from Haryana, valued at a staggering ₹23 crore.

Anmol’s life is nothing short of regal. Every day, he is fed dry fruits, 20 eggs, tons of milk, ghee, and almonds, while receiving almond-oil and mustard-oil massages to maintain his lustrous coat. Beyond his showmanship, Anmol’s breeding value is immense. His semen is used to impregnate hundreds of buffaloes, generating substantial monthly income for his owner.

The buffalo has become a social media sensation, sparking fascination among livestock traders and visitors at the fair. Despite the astronomical price, his owner refuses to sell, stating that Anmol is “part of the family.”

Experts say Anmol’s story is emblematic of India’s growing premium livestock breeding culture, highlighting the increasing value placed on elite animals, meticulous care, and showmanship. In addition to being a record-setting animal, Anmol symbolizes how traditional fairs like Pushkar are evolving into platforms for showcasing the best of agricultural innovation, breeding excellence, and wealth in the livestock sector.
