In one of the most touching displays of love and devotion the world has ever seen, an Argentine farmer transformed a dream into living art: a massive, guitar-shaped forest visible from the sky. And he spent more than 40 years growing it — all to fulfill the final wish of his beloved late wife.
The forest, located in the agricultural landscapes of Córdoba Province, spans several acres and is shaped unmistakably like a perfectly crafted guitar, complete with a soundhole, neck, and strings made from carefully aligned rows of trees. This breathtaking tribute was planted by Pedro Ureta, a devoted husband who turned grief into creation.
A Promise Made — and Kept for a Lifetime
Decades ago, Pedro’s wife, Graciela, fell in love with the idea of designing something beautiful on their farmland — a guitar that would become a symbol of art, nature, and family legacy. She often spoke about it, imagining how it would look from above like a message etched into the earth.
Tragically, Graciela passed away at a young age before she could bring the idea to life. Heartbroken, Pedro vowed to honor her dream — and began planting.
A Forest Grown with Love, Patience, and Precision
Using a mix of cypress and eucalyptus trees, Pedro meticulously designed the outline of the guitar, planting each tree by hand. The dark green cypresses form the guitar’s body, while the lighter eucalyptus trees create the strings and center patterns.
Year after year, season after season, Pedro nurtured the forest, repaired storm damage, replaced lost trees, and watched it slowly take shape. The project became more than a tribute — it was his way of speaking to Graciela through the land they once dreamed of shaping together.
Today, pilots flying over the region often point down in awe, showing passengers the stunning guitar — now one of Argentina’s most remarkable landmarks.
A Living Monument to Eternal Love
What began as a private promise has grown into a global symbol of devotion, creativity, and resilience. Pedro’s guitar-shaped forest is not just a work of environmental art — it is a powerful reminder that love can take root and flourish in the most extraordinary ways.
