Dubai has cemented its reputation as a global luxury capital, not with gold-plated cars or sprawling villas, but with a single cup of coffee. Roasters Specialty Coffee House has officially secured a Guinness World Record for serving the Most Expensive Cup of Coffee, priced at a staggering AED 2,500 (approximately $680 USD).
The record-setting cup is far more than a simple beverage; it’s a meticulously crafted, multi-sensory experience designed for the most discerning connoisseur.
The colossal price tag is attributed to the extraordinary rarity and luxurious presentation of the coffee:
- Rare Beans: The brew is made from the ultra-exclusive Panama Esmeralda Geisha coffee beans, sourced from the renowned Hacienda La Esmeralda estate. These beans are celebrated worldwide for their unique and delicate flavor profile, often featuring floral notes of jasmine and honeysuckle, and sweet hints of tropical fruit and peach. Roasters had purchased a 20-kilogram lot of these prestigious beans at the ‘Best of Panama 2025’ auction.
- The Preparation: The coffee is a V60 hand-poured brew, prepared tableside by a dedicated barista using a temperature-controlled kettle and specialized dripper to ensure optimal extraction of its rare flavors.
- The Presentation: The luxurious ritual culminates in the coffee being served in a handcrafted Edo Kiriko crystal glass imported from Japan, which adds to the opulence of the experience.
- A Complete Experience: The $680 price also includes a trio of delicacies infused with the same Geisha beans: a delicate tiramisu, a scoop of chocolate ice cream, and a signature chocolate piece. Guests are also presented with information cards to fully appreciate the beans’ provenance and the meticulous brewing technique.
The official record was confirmed on September 13 at the café’s flagship location in Boulevard Downtown Dubai.
“This award celebrates our team’s dedication and reflects Dubai’s growing reputation as a destination for exceptional coffee experiences,” said Konstantin Harbuz, co-founder and CEO of Roasters.
The record highlights a growing trend in the luxury market where consumers are willing to invest in rarity, exclusivity, and a memorable, curated experience. For a brief, exquisite moment, coffee lovers in Dubai can now sip on the world’s most valuable cup of Joe.
