The festive spirit of Navratri has reached a spectacular high in Udaipur, where the shrine of Goddess Baleshwari Mata in Bhuwana has been transformed into a dazzling display of devotion and wealth, with the deity and the darbaar beautifully adorned with over ₹51 Lakh in currency notes.
The Baleshwar Yuva Mandal, the organizing body, meticulously decorated the goddess and the temple with currency notes totaling ₹51,51,551, using various denominations including ₹50, ₹100, ₹200, and ₹500.
This year’s elaborate cash decoration marks the continuation of a unique tradition at the temple, which has seen the scale of the offering grow significantly over the last few years:
- Year 1: ₹11,11,111
- Year 2: ₹21,21,121
- Year 3: ₹31,31,131
- Year 4 (Current Year): ₹51,51,551
The entire ensemble features garlands, backdrops, and even the deity’s crown crafted entirely from the crisp banknotes, creating an extraordinary visual spectacle for devotees. The temple has reportedly arranged for enhanced security and CCTV surveillance to ensure the safety of the enormous cash display throughout the Navratri festival.
The event, which attracts thousands of visitors, also featured vibrant Garba and Dandiya performances, adding to the grandeur of the celebration. The unique decoration serves as a powerful expression of faith and devotion by the local community.
