At the tender age of 1 year and 152 days, Ghana’s Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah has officially been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s youngest male artist. His prodigious talent for painting has captivated global attention, cementing his place in art history before he can even fully articulate sentences.
Ace-Liam’s extraordinary journey into the art world began when he was just six months old, a discovery made serendipitously by his mother, Chantelle Kuukua Eghan, herself a professional artist.
Chantelle recounted the moment she realized her son’s unique inclination:
“While learning to crawl, I spread out a piece of unstretched canvas on the floor and dropped some paint on it as a way to keep him busy while I worked on a commission painting,” she explained. “He ended up spreading the paint on the canvas and creating an impromptu masterpiece.”
Since then, Ace-Liam has produced a remarkable collection of over 20 paintings, each a vibrant expression of his nascent creativity. His style is characterized by bold, abstract strokes and a joyous use of color, reflecting an uninhibited artistic sensibility. His first public exhibition, held at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra in December 2023, featured 10 of his works, nine of which were sold on opening day.
Ace-Liam’s recognition by Guinness World Records not only celebrates his individual talent but also shines a spotlight on Ghana’s burgeoning arts scene and the boundless potential of early childhood development. His mother hopes his story will inspire parents to discover and nurture their children’s unique talents from a young age.
The record also brings an element of pride to the nation, as Ace-Liam becomes one of Ghana’s youngest-ever Guinness World Records holders, joining an elite group of individuals who have pushed boundaries in various fields.
