Spanish Speedster Smashes Record Running 100m Backwards in High Heels

A serial speedster from Spain has claimed his latest running record, and he did it backwards… while wearing high heels.

Christian Roberto López Rodríguez risked blisters and sprained ankles to claim the fastest 100 m backwards in high heels with an impressive time of 16.55 seconds. In doing so, he broke his own previous record of 20.05 seconds, which he had set on the Spanish TV show La Noche De Los Récords.

According to the official rules, the shoes must have heels of at least 7 cm (2.76 in) and be no wider than 1.5 cm (0.59 in) at the tip, and platforms are not permitted.

López Rodríguez is known for his unusual running records and currently holds more than 80 Guinness World Records titles. Some of his other records include the fastest 400 m in clogs, fastest 100 m wearing flip flops, and fastest mile traveled while balancing a pool cue on a finger.
