YouTube sensation and Guinness World Records icon MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has launched his most ambitious project to date: “Beast Games.” The new reality show, a partnership with Amazon Prime, promises to be the “largest game show in history,” with over 1,000 contestants competing for a jaw-dropping $5 million prize, the largest cash award ever to be given away on television.
Known for his over-the-top challenges and massive giveaways, MrBeast is no stranger to setting records. He holds the title of the most followed creator in the world, with a staggering 432 million followers across his social media platforms as of September 2025. Last year alone, his YouTube videos attracted over nine billion views.
In an interview with Amazon, Donaldson expressed his goal to prove that YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms. “My goal is to make the greatest show possible and prove YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms,” he said. “I hope to make the YouTube community proud.”
The ten-episode series, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on December 19, 2024, has already garnered immense attention, with the first two episodes being released simultaneously. The show is reportedly inspired by the hit Netflix show Squid Game, and the production is said to have broken dozens of other records, including the largest prize fund awarded for a competitive reality TV show ($10 million, as part of a prize pool that includes additional prizes). The first season was so successful that Prime Video has already renewed it for two more seasons.
The series is available to stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
