HONOR Breaks Guinness World Record with Mass Phone Drop Test in Philippines

In a bold and unprecedented move to prove the durability of its new smartphone, HONOR Philippines has set a new Guinness World Record for the “Most People Performing a Mobile Phone Drop Test Simultaneously.” A total of 264 participants dropped the HONOR X9c 5G at the same time, with all phones surviving the ordeal to secure the historic title.

The record-breaking event, which took place ahead of the phone’s official launch, was a high-stakes test of the HONOR X9c 5G’s “All-Angle Triple Defense” feature. According to Guinness World Records guidelines, the phones had to be dropped from shoulder height with the screen facing down and remain in working order at the end of the attempt. The fact that all 264 phones passed the test is a testament to the device’s robust engineering.

Stephen Cheng, Vice President of HONOR Philippines, celebrated the win, stating, “A win for HONOR is a win for the Filipinos. Prior to its launch, the toughest phone already has already set a Guinness World Record and this is a feat for everyone who supported us since day one.”

The HONOR X9c 5G, with its SGS 5-Star rating for drop resistance, is designed to withstand drops of up to two meters. In addition to its drop-proof build, the phone also boasts an IP65M rating for water resistance, meaning it can withstand low-pressure water jets and even be submerged in up to 25cm of water for five minutes.

The record-breaking drop test serves as a powerful marketing statement for the new phone, showcasing its resilience and giving consumers confidence in its durability.
