In a monumental achievement for a spiritual institution, Pune’s renowned Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple has been officially recognized by for setting a world record for the highest number of devotees visiting a single temple in a year. The prestigious certificate was presented to the temple trust during the ongoing Ganeshotsav celebrations on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

The trustees and office bearers of the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust, in collaboration with the Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal, accepted the honor. The recognition comes as a testament to the continuous and overwhelming influx of devotees who visit the temple throughout the year, drawn by their faith in Lord Ganesha.

The Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple, a landmark with a 127-year history, is a symbol of faith and devotion not just in India but across the world. The temple’s idol, known as “Icchapurti Ganesha,” is revered for granting wishes, and its grandeur attracts millions of visitors annually.

This latest honor adds to the temple’s long list of accolades, which includes a previous world record for the largest synchronized Ganpati aarti, performed by over 42,000 women during the 2024 Ganeshotsav festival.
