MSC Cruises has sailed into the record books once again, celebrating the arrival of its new flagship, MSC World America, by setting a Guinness World Records title for the longest line of LEGO® ships. The monumental feat was achieved during the vessel’s transatlantic journey to its new homeport.
The record-breaking attempt took place on March 30, 2025, as the ship made its way from the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. Led by Captain Master Dino Sagani and a team of more than 1,000 crew members, the effort resulted in a line of 1,391 LEGO ships that measured a total of 89.02 meters (291 feet) long, snaking through the ship’s bustling World Galleria on Deck 6.
The achievement is a testament to the cruise line’s long-standing partnership with both the LEGO Group and Guinness World Records. It also serves as a fitting welcome to the highly anticipated MSC World America, which boasts 22 decks, 2,614 staterooms, and seven distinct themed zones. The ship, which is powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), is designed to be one of the most eco-friendly vessels in the industry.
The milestone was a precursor to the ship’s official naming ceremony on April 9, 2025, at the state-of-the-art MSC Miami Cruise Terminal. Following the celebration, the flagship is set to embark on its inaugural Caribbean season, bringing its innovative design and record-breaking spirit to passengers in the region.
