In a remarkable academic feat that has shattered records and captured global attention, an 18-year-old London teenager has passed 23 A-levels, all with top grades. This achievement by Mahnoor Cheema, who holds a registered IQ of 161, comes after she previously passed an astonishing 34 GCSEs, cementing her status as one of the world’s most gifted students.
Mahnoor’s IQ of 161 is a point higher than the estimated IQs of Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein, placing her in the top 1% of the world’s population. She is a member of Mensa, the high-IQ society. Her academic journey, far from conventional, has seen her take on a wide array of subjects from Law and Latin to Computer Science and Further Maths.
“I would be bored and under-stimulated if I only did the standard three A-levels,” Mahnoor told reporters, attributing her success to a natural love for learning and a unique time management system. Her mother, Tayyaba, helps her maintain a rigorous schedule that balances intense study with social life.
Mahnoor’s record-breaking performance has secured her an unconditional offer to study medicine at the University of Oxford, fulfilling a childhood dream. Her accomplishments have not gone unnoticed, with her setting multiple global records for the number of subjects passed with distinction at the secondary school level.
Her parents, who moved to the UK from Lahore, Pakistan, are immensely proud of their daughter’s achievements. Mahnoor’s story has become a source of inspiration, showcasing how ambition, hard work, and intellectual curiosity can lead to unprecedented success.
