In a stunning display of consumer demand, Indian automaker Mahindra announced that all 999 units of its limited-edition BE 6 Batman Edition electric SUV were completely sold out in an unprecedented 135 seconds of bookings opening. The overwhelming response for the “Dark Knight”-themed vehicle underscores a growing enthusiasm for electric vehicles and collector-focused models in the Indian market.
The exclusive edition, a collaboration between Mahindra and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, was launched on August 14, 2025, and is inspired by Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed The Dark Knight Trilogy. Priced at an ex-showroom price of ₹27.79 lakh, the vehicle is based on the top-spec Pack Three variant of the BE 6.
Originally limited to just 300 units, pre-launch interest was so immense that Mahindra increased the total production run to 999 units. Despite the larger allocation, the booking portal, which opened on August 23, was swamped by eager buyers who had to be quick to secure their unit.
The appeal of the BE 6 Batman Edition lies in its meticulous design details, which pay homage to the iconic superhero. The vehicle features a custom satin black paint scheme, Alchemy Gold-painted brake calipers and suspension springs, and multiple Bat emblems on the body, hubcaps, and interior. The cabin includes a numbered plaque, a gold-accented steering wheel, and a welcome animation on the infotainment screen inspired by the cinematic trilogy.
Deliveries of the BE 6 Batman Edition are scheduled to begin on September 20, 2025, a date that fittingly coincides with International Batman Day. The sold-out success not only marks a new chapter for Mahindra’s new BE electric sub-brand but also proves the powerful fusion of pop culture and the automotive world.
