In a dazzling display of precision engineering and meticulous patience, a Chinese window and door manufacturer has earned a Guinness World Records title for the most playing cards toppled in a domino fashion. The record-breaking feat, which was held on April 11, 2025, saw 51,725 playing cards cascade in a fluid stream, all within the pristine environment of a 500-square-meter glass sunroom.
The ambitious project was orchestrated by Foshan SUNHOHI Smart Home Technology Co., Ltd. as a unique way to showcase the superior strength and weather-tightness of its products. The company’s “Ultimate Space” sunroom served as the perfect, wind-free fortress for the delicate operation. A team of 15 people from SUNHOHI and “The World of Domino” worked for 13 hours to meticulously place the 52,344 cards, preparing for the record attempt.
Guinness World Records adjudicator Peter Yang was on hand to certify the attempt. According to reports, the team faced immense pressure from the humid South China weather, and even a simulated typhoon was created outside the glass room to test the company’s doors and windows. The structure held firm, and the cards inside remained perfectly still until the first card was tipped.
In a statement, Chao Yueliang, General Manager of SUNHOHI’s Marketing Center, said, “We chose the intricate domino format to highlight our doors and windows’ soundproofing, thermal insulation, watertightness, airtightness, and wind resistance.” He added that the record-breaking stunt was a way to “spotlight door and window quality and reshape industry perceptions.”
The card-toppling event, which lasted just over three minutes, was a testament to the company’s commitment to quality. The 51,725 cards that successfully toppled were far beyond the minimum of 50,000 required for the record, ensuring that Foshan SUNHOHI’s unique marketing effort was not only a spectacle but also a certified world record.
