French Firefighter Sets Daring World Record by Riding Motorcycle While on Fire

A French firefighter with a unique talent for fire has claimed his third world record in a daring blaze of glory. Jonathan Vero, a professional stuntman and firefighter, has officially been certified by Guinness World Records for the farthest distance full body burn while riding a motorcycle.

The incredible feat took place on October 29, 2024, in his hometown of Châtellerault. Vero, who was fully engulfed in flames, rode his specially modified motorcycle for an astonishing 442.10 meters (1,450 ft), shattering his previous attempts. This latest record adds to a series of fire-related stunts that have made him a global sensation.

Vero, who has been a firefighter for more than two decades, previously held two other world records for running on fire. In 2022, he set a record for the fastest 100-meter sprint (17 seconds) and the longest distance run (272.25 m or 893 ft 2.5 in), both while his body was on fire without the use of oxygen.

His passion for fire-based stunts began in childhood, inspired by the comic book character Ghost Rider. Today, he channels that fascination into a professional career, meticulously preparing for each stunt with fire safety and a focus on pushing the boundaries of human endurance.

“This is not just about a world record,” Vero said. “It’s about showing that with passion, hard work, and the right safety measures, you can achieve something that seems impossible.”

By leveraging his professional skills as a firefighter, Vero ensures that his record-breaking acts are executed with the utmost precision, solidifying his reputation as a true master of his dangerous craft.
