Cypriot Waiter Breaks Record Balancing Dozens of Wine Glasses on His Head

A 64-year-old from Cyprus has proven that age is no barrier to balance, as he successfully reclaimed his world record for the most wine glasses balanced on the head. Aristotelis Valaoritis, a master of equilibrium, took his skills to new heights last month by stacking an astounding number of glasses.

The record-breaking attempt took place on July 23, 2025, in Larnaca. With a crowd watching in silent awe, Valaoritis meticulously stacked the glasses, one by one, into a towering pyramid on his head. After a suspenseful final count, he was officially certified by Guinness World Records for balancing 80 wine glasses.

This feat marks a sweet victory for Valaoritis, who first set the record in 2022 with a total of 75 glasses before losing the title to another competitor. His determination to retake the record was a testament to his passion and a challenge to himself to surpass his previous best.

“It takes incredible concentration and patience,” Valaoritis said. “Every glass has to be placed perfectly. It’s a game of millimeters, and I love the challenge.”

The event not only showcased a truly unique talent but also served as a powerful reminder that with practice, even the most precarious of feats can be accomplished. For Valaoritis, the record is more than just a number; it’s a celebration of a skill he has honed over a lifetime.
