Brazil has unveiled a new generation of AI-powered tree-planting robots designed to supercharge reforestation efforts. Capable of planting more than 100 trees per hour, these high-tech machines go beyond speed — they can also analyze “soil memory” to determine the most suitable tree species for each location.

Equipped with sensors and advanced data-processing systems, the robots assess soil composition, moisture levels, and historical land-use patterns before planting. This ensures not only faster reforestation but also higher survival rates and better ecosystem restoration.

Environmental experts believe these robots could help restore large areas of degraded land across the Amazon and beyond, potentially playing a key role in Brazil’s climate action goals. Officials hope to deploy the technology in both rural and urban green projects within the next year.
