Ahmedabad Unveils World’s Longest Spiritual Rakhi in Record-Breaking Celebration

AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT, INDIA – August 9, 2025 – In a magnificent display of spiritual devotion and cultural unity, Ahmedabad has set a new world record for the longest spiritual Rakhi. The monumental creation was unveiled today at the Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University ground as part of the Ahmedabad Adhyatmik Varsh Yog 2025 celebrations.

The record-breaking Rakhi was conceived by the revered Acharya Shri Sunilsagar Ji Maharaj in collaboration with the Sakal Digambar Jain Samaj, Ahmedabad. The centerpiece of this extraordinary creation measured an impressive 6 feet in height with a 4-foot-wide base. Attached to this was a colossal string, stretching an incredible 700 feet on each side, bringing the total length to a truly unprecedented scale.

A dedicated team from Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University meticulously handcrafted the Rakhi in a record time of just 12 hours. Using a variety of materials including cloth, strings, thermocol, artistic fabrics, and decorative items, the team brought the Acharya’s vision to life. The creation stands not merely as a decorative piece but as a powerful symbol of spiritual unity, peace, and cultural devotion.

This awe-inspiring Rakhi is intended to represent a profound spiritual bond, promoting and reinforcing values of trust, respect, and family unity. Its public exhibition has drawn a large crowd, serving as a powerful reminder of the enduring significance of the Raksha Bandhan festival and the city’s rich spiritual heritage.

Mr. Paavan Solanki, Chief Editor of World Records India, officially adjudicated the record on site and presented the World Record Certificate to Acharya Shri Sunilsagar Ji Maharaj, solidifying this incredible feat.
