Chinese automotive giant BYD has unveiled its latest innovation in mobility — an all-terrain electric SUV that comes with a dedicated drone platform on the roof, signaling a futuristic leap in off-road and adventure travel.
The SUV, designed to conquer rugged landscapes, deserts, forests, and even mountainous terrain, seamlessly integrates a custom docking station for a high-performance drone, allowing drivers to scout terrain, capture aerial footage, or perform safety checks in remote areas.
The onboard drone can be deployed with a single tap from the dashboard interface and is equipped with 4K cameras, real-time GPS, and auto-return features. The drone platform also doubles as a solar charging pad, ensuring it remains functional during long expeditions.
“With this launch, we’re blending ground and aerial mobility into a single smart ecosystem,” said a BYD spokesperson. “This vehicle is for explorers, documentarians, and those who want to experience the world from every angle.”
This all-electric SUV is expected to hit global markets by early 2026, with pre-orders already open in China and Europe. Pricing details have not been officially released, but experts predict it will compete with the premium off-road segment. As the automotive world races toward electrification, BYD is not just keeping up — it’s taking flight.
