Chandigarh Teen Janvi Jindal Smashes Five Guinness World Records in Freestyle Skating

CHANDIGARH, INDIA – July 23, 2025 – Seventeen-year-old Janvi Jindal from Chandigarh has etched her name into history by becoming the youngest Indian girl to hold five Guinness World Records in freestyle skating. What makes her achievement even more remarkable is that Janvi is entirely self-taught, honing her extraordinary skills by watching tutorials on YouTube and social media.

Janvi’s five officially confirmed records, achieved in July 2025, showcase her incredible agility and precision on inline skates:

  • Most 360-degree rotations on inline skates in 30 seconds: 27 spins
  • Fastest Slalom (20 cones) on two wheels: 8.85 seconds
  • Most one-wheeled 360-degree spins in 30 seconds: 42 spins
  • Most one-wheeled 360-degree spins in one minute: 72 spins
  • Most consecutive one-wheeled 360-degree spins: 22 spins

Her journey to becoming a world record holder is a testament to dedication and resourcefulness. With no professional freestyle skating coach available in Chandigarh, her father, Munish Jindal, stepped in to guide her, learning techniques himself from online videos. Janvi’s practice sessions often took place on public pathways and in front of showrooms in Sector 22 during late evenings after her father returned from work.

“It was clear to me from the beginning that I wanted to do something in life that I was passionate about,” Janvi told reporters, adding that she aims to inspire more children, especially girls, to pursue their passions. Her first attempt at a Guinness World Record was initially rejected due to a minor technicality, but her perseverance through a year-long re-application and dedicated practice ultimately led to this success.

Beyond her Guinness records, Janvi has also been recognized by the National Records organization for five unique titles, including being the youngest to perform Bhangra on skates, gliding downstairs while skating, and performing the maximum wheelie spins at Khardung La Pass. She is also credited with pioneering unique freestyle skating forms by blending Bhangra and Yoga with skating.

Janvi’s achievement makes her the highest record-holding female under 18 in India and the only female athlete from Chandigarh to reach such a milestone, elevating her to a status once held only by Chandigarh’s cricket legend Yuvraj Singh, who also started his sporting journey in skating. Her inspiring story, from practicing on footpaths to gaining global recognition, highlights the boundless potential that can be unlocked through passion and persistence.
