“Breaking Barriers, Busting Myths: IADVL’s Nationwide Skin Health Campaign Sets Records”

In an unprecedented nationwide effort, the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) organized a series of skin health awareness camps across India, including 28 camps in Delhi alone, as part of a record-setting public health initiative.

The campaign, themed “No Health Without Skin Health,” was aimed at promoting the importance of skin care in overall physical, mental, and social well-being, while also debunking common myths surrounding dermatological conditions.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Deepika Pandhi, President of IADVL, stated,

“Skin health is more than cosmetic. It plays a vital role in a person’s confidence, hygiene, and overall quality of life. This campaign reminds everyone that true health is incomplete without healthy skin.”

  • Nationwide awareness drive, with hundreds of camps held simultaneously across major cities and rural areas
  • 28 camps in Delhi, reaching thousands of citizens from all walks of life
  • Free skin check-ups, dermatological advice, myth-busting sessions, and distribution of educational materials
  • Addressed widespread misconceptions like:
    • Acne is caused by dirt
    • Dark skin is unhealthy skin
    • Skin diseases aren’t serious
    • Home remedies are always safe

The campaign also featured interactive booths, school outreach, and social media engagement under the hashtag #NoHealthWithoutSkinHealth, drawing massive participation and online awareness.

The synchronized nature of the camps is being submitted for recognition as India’s largest dermatological outreach event, showcasing IADVL’s leadership in public health advocacy.

IADVL’s effort comes at a time when skin-related conditions are on the rise, yet often overlooked in mainstream health discussions. The association’s goal is to normalize skin health conversations and promote early intervention and scientific treatment.

As IADVL wraps up this ambitious campaign, it leaves behind not only greater awareness, but also a renewed national conversation on the role of skin in holistic well-being.
