Kuwait Enters Guinness Book of Records with World’s Largest Bisht

Kuwait has proudly etched its name into the Guinness Book of Records with the creation of the world’s largest bisht, a traditional Arab cloak, measuring an astounding 17 by 16 meters. This remarkable achievement surpasses the previous record of 17 by 9 meters set by Saudi Arabia.

According to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the record-breaking bisht was meticulously crafted under the supervision of the Al Baghli Exhibition for the Bisht Industry, a renowned establishment known for its commitment to preserving and elevating traditional Kuwaiti craftsmanship.

The intricate garment took 48 days to complete, with a dedicated team of artisans working diligently to perfect every stitch and detail. The effort reflects not only technical skill but also deep cultural pride.

The feat was officially recognized by Guinness World Records, with certified adjudicator Kenzi Al Dafrawi presenting the certificate of recognition to Riyad Al Baghli, owner of the Bisht Al Baghli exhibition.

“This record is a tribute to our heritage and the timeless beauty of traditional attire,” said Al Baghli. “We’re proud to represent Kuwait on the global stage.”

The massive bisht now stands as a symbol of Kuwait’s dedication to honoring its cultural traditions while pushing boundaries of excellence.
