French Pastry Chefs Break World Record with 121.8-Metre Strawberry Cake in Argenteuil

In a delicious display of culinary craftsmanship and community spirit, a team of 20 French pastry chefs led by Youssef El Gatou has baked the world’s longest strawberry cake, measuring a staggering 121.8 metres (399 feet, 8 inches).

The monumental dessert was unveiled at an ice rink in Argenteuil, a suburb of Paris, where crowds of delighted residents gathered to witness and taste the record-breaking creation.

Crafted using 4,000 eggs, and a truckload of sugar and cream, the cake weighed 1.2 tonnes and took one week to complete. This sweet achievement officially dethrones the previous record-holder — a 100.48-metre strawberry cake made in San Mauro Torinese, Italy, in 2019.

“This is not just about setting records, it’s about bringing people together through a shared love of pastry,” said El Gatou, beaming with pride.
