An 11-year-old boy from Manningtree, Essex, has magically apparated into the Guinness World Records, setting a new global benchmark for identifying the most Harry Potter characters from film quotes within just 60 seconds.
Eli Chmelik correctly named an impressive 19 characters in a minute, a feat he described as feeling “very strange” to now hold the record for. Eli revealed that his inspiration to take on this unique challenge came after witnessing a similar record being set for the Star Wars franchise.
A spokesperson for Guinness World Records lauded Eli’s achievement as “an impressive achievement.”
Eli’s deep dive into the wizarding world began early; he recounted that he “instantly loved the entire series” when he read the first Harry Potter book at the age of six. Since then, he has “obsessively” read J.K. Rowling’s beloved books “dozens of times each,” clearly honing the knowledge that led to his record-breaking success.
