The event, inaugurated by Padmakumar E.S., Director of ISRO Inertial Systems Unit (IISU), highlighted a diverse range of solutions addressing societal needs and environmental challenges.
Among the featured inventions was a crucial device designed to assist individuals with visual impairments, presented by Suraj Suresh, a Plus One student from S.V. Higher Secondary School in Payimedu, Malappuram. His thoughtful creation promises to enhance accessibility and independence for many.
Innovation in healthcare was further represented by Akhilesh P., who introduced an innovative hearing aid aimed at improving auditory experiences, and Lini Basil, a dentist, who presented a new dental care product focused on enhancing oral hygiene for wider public benefit.
Environmental sustainability was a strong theme, with Jabir Karatt unveiling new waste management models specifically focused on organic waste recycling. Aishwarya R.S., a Ph.D. scholar from Kannur University, drew significant attention with her cutting-edge technology for developing biofuels from various waste materials, offering a promising alternative energy source.
Looking to revolutionize the packaging industry, Ashir K., a student at the Kerala Agricultural University, showcased edible packaging products. These innovative solutions aim to reduce plastic waste and offer an eco-friendly alternative to conventional packaging.
The event, a testament to Kerala’s thriving research and development ecosystem, received high praise from dignitaries. Chief Minister’s scientific advisor M. Chandradathan delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of nurturing young talent and fostering a culture of scientific inquiry. KSCSTE member secretary A. Sabu also addressed the gathering, commending the participants for their creativity and dedication.
