A remarkable rabbit named Penelope recently took center stage in Milan, captivating a cheering crowd on the Italian show Lo Show dei Record as she attempted to break a challenging Guinness World Record.
The record title in question, established in 2019, sets a maximum time of 17 seconds for an animal to complete an obstacle course. Since its inception, two other rabbits have bravely attempted the feat, but neither managed to successfully claim the record.
Penelope’s journey to the spotlight began with her owner, Ole, a dedicated animal lover who developed a soft spot for rabbits after getting his first one in 2015. When Penelope arrived as a Christmas present, Ole quickly noticed her exceptional agility and speed. It was then that the idea sparked: to train Penelope for a world record attempt.
After a few months of dedicated training, Penelope was ready. Stepping onto the stage at Lo Show dei Record, she appeared unfazed by the cameras and the live audience. Her first attempt started strong, with Penelope effortlessly clearing the first nine obstacles. However, in a moment of dramatic suspense, she refused to jump the final hurdle, leaving the record tantalizingly out of reach on that particular try. The crowd, however, was clearly enthralled by her performance and determination.
