Captain Preet Chandi, a British Army officer and trailblazing polar explorer, has claimed her third world record after completing the fastest solo ski expedition by a woman to the South Pole.
Chandi, who already holds two Guinness World Records for Antarctic expeditions, covered a staggering 1,130 km (702 miles) of unforgiving Antarctic terrain in 31 days, 13 hours, and 19 minutes — an extraordinary feat of endurance, strength, and resilience.
The record is now awaiting official verification by Guinness World Records, but if confirmed, it will solidify Chandi’s status as one of the most accomplished polar adventurers in history.
Speaking after completing the journey, the Derby native said: “I’m tired – but so glad I made it.”
Known as “Polar Preet,” Chandi has continually broken barriers, becoming a symbol of inspiration, especially for women and minorities in adventure and military communities. Her latest achievement not only adds another accolade to her name but also continues her mission of proving that “nothing is impossible.”
Chandi’s journey through one of the harshest environments on Earth underscores her mental and physical fortitude, making her a standout figure in modern exploration.
