India Sets World Record with Publication of the Thickest Book

In a monumental achievement for Indian literature and spirituality, Gyanjivandasji Swami has set a Guinness World Record for publishing the thickest book in the world, measuring an astounding 496 mm (19.5 inches) in thickness.

The record-setting book, titled ‘Shree Haricharitramrut Sagar’, is a biography of Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan, a revered spiritual leader and founder of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. The book was officially launched and recognized in Gujarat, India, on February 2, 2020.

The title translates to “The Ocean of the Nectar of Lord Hari’s Divine Life” and is a detailed spiritual chronicle, encompassing multiple volumes compiled into a single bound book. It serves not only as a literary marvel but also as a deeply devotional work, reflecting the life, teachings, and legacy of Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan.

“This is more than just a book; it is a sacred treasure for millions of devotees around the world,” said Gyanjivandasji Swami during the unveiling ceremony.

Guinness World Records officials confirmed the dimensions and authenticity of the publication, certifying it as the thickest book ever published. The feat combines spiritual devotion with scholarly excellence, showcasing India’s rich tradition of religious literature.
