In an extraordinary feat of community mobilization and environmental commitment, Bollywood actor Gavie Chahal has teamed up with Save Earth Mission to support the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to action. This massive initiative culminated in India earning a place in the Guinness World Records for its unprecedented scale of tree plantation.
“It was on the call of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under the campaign Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, that India created a historic moment earning a place in the Guinness World Records!” Chahal announced, reflecting on the meticulous planning and unparalleled community participation that powered the event.
The plantation drive unfolded across thousands of locations—cities, towns, and villages—engaging schools, colleges, and institutions. Recognizing the challenges posed by heat waves in many metropolitan areas, organizers chose to focus on in-house plantation efforts to mitigate urban heat and enhance green cover.
To ensure accountability and lasting impact, every tree planted was digitally logged, geo-tagged, and tracked. “The idea was to have real impact rather than a symbolic gesture,” Gavie Chahal emphasized.
Best known for his roles in Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai, Chahal is currently gearing up for his next projects, including three Hindi films and an upcoming web series. With his active participation in this environmental initiative, Chahal hopes to inspire others in the entertainment industry—and beyond—to champion meaningful change.
