In a grand effort to create awareness about the life and teachings of the revered poet-saint Tukaram Maharaj, Shree Bajirao Maharaj Bangar, a celebrated kirtankar from Pimpalgaon Khadki, Pune, Maharashtra, performed a nonstop solo kirtan for 12 hours on June 14, 2022. Supported by 22 dedicated artists, he presented a continuous rendition of Saint Tukaramji’s Single Abhangwar Kirtan, setting a New World Record at Narayangao, Taluka Junnar, Pune district.
The event was organized with the support of Shri Manik Maharaj More from the Tukaram family and the team of Swarajya Sangh, Maharashtra State. The marathon kirtan was a devotional homage aimed at spreading the spiritual and cultural legacy of Tukaram Maharaj, inspiring people with his timeless abhangas and teachings.
This record-setting performance not only demonstrated the stamina and devotion of Shree Bajirao Maharaj Bangar but also reinforced the cultural richness and spiritual heritage of Maharashtra, bringing the saint’s life story closer to the hearts of devotees and the public.
