In a remarkable initiative to boost voter turnout in the Assembly Election 2019, the District Election Office and Education Department of Jilla Parishad Ahmednagar successfully organized a massive signature pledge campaign. An astounding 2,546,792 citizens participated by signing forms pledging to cast their vote, setting a new world record in October 2019.
The event was orchestrated under the leadership of Shri Rahul Dwivedi, District Collector & District Election Officer, along with Shri Jitendra Patil, Deputy District Election Officer, Shri Chandrashekhar Shitole, Tahsildar, Dilip Thore, SVEEP Nodal & Education Officer, Shri Ramakant Kathmore, Education Officer, and Dr. Amol Bagul, District Icon and Brand Ambassador.
This groundbreaking campaign not only emphasized the importance of voting as a civic duty but also showcased the power of community participation in strengthening democracy. The overwhelming response is expected to significantly increase voter participation and ensure a more representative electoral process in Ahmednagar District.
