Dr. Sadananda Panigrahi, Senior Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha, has set a remarkable new world record by successfully performing 30,009 female sterilization operations (Minilap) between 1996 and 2022.

The milestone was officially recognized on 11th May 2022 at the Sub Divisional Hospital, Dharmagarh, Kalahandi, Odisha.

Dr. Panigrahi’s dedication and commitment to family planning and women’s health over more than two decades have made a significant impact on reproductive health services in the region. His expertise in the Minilap procedure has benefited thousands of women, contributing to safer and effective sterilization practices.
