On the occasion of World Disability Day, Navjeevan Charitable Trust, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, organized a special event to promote the Government of India’s “Accessible India” mission. The Trust created the largest replica of a crutch—the walking aid for specially-abled individuals—measuring an impressive 51 feet (15.55 meters) in height. Crafted using MS pipes, foam, and wooden materials, this giant crutch was proudly displayed on December 2, 2017, at the Navjeevan School Campus, Opposite Water Tank Memnagar, Ahmedabad.
This remarkable structure symbolizes support and accessibility for people with disabilities and highlights the importance of inclusive infrastructure across India. The event received appreciation from various community members and advocates for disability rights, reinforcing the commitment toward building a barrier-free society.
