“Record for Maximum Indoor Ganesha Festival Theme Creations by an Individual”

In a remarkable fusion of art, culture, and devotion, Mr. Deepak Lavjibhai Makwana, a passionate interior designer from Mumbai, Maharashtra, along with his family, achieved a New World Record for designing 10 creative and innovative indoor themes for the Ganesha Festival celebrations, consistently from 2010 to 2019.

Celebrated annually with devotion and imagination, each year featured a unique, intricately designed indoor setting reflecting national pride, architectural marvels, and contemporary events. On September 2, 2019, Mr. Makwana’s decade-long creative journey was officially recognized as a record-setting achievement.

Notably, in 2018, he crafted a miniature of the Statue of Unity, the tallest statue in the world, along with the Sardar Sarovar Dam, all within a 100 sq. ft. area — an exceptional display of precision and scale.

Here’s a look at the 10 iconic themes showcased:

  1. 2019 – Chandrayaan-2: India’s moon mission brought to life indoors
  2. 2018 – Statue of Unity & Sardar Sarovar Dam: A tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
  3. 2017 – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Memorial: Honoring the Maratha warrior king
  4. 2016 – Chandrodaya Mandir, Vrindavan: Depiction of the world’s tallest Krishna temple
  5. 2015 – Chenab Rail Bridge, J&K: Model of the world’s highest railway bridge

  9. 2010 – Mumbai Metro: A nod to the city’s transformative transport
  10. 2009 – Bandra-Worli Sea Link: An engineering marvel recreated

Each of these themed setups was crafted with incredible attention to detail, using sustainable materials and artistic finesse, transforming the family’s home into a cultural exhibition year after year.

This decade-long initiative not only reflects artistic brilliance and technical skill but also promotes national heritage, awareness, and devotion through eco-friendly celebrations of Lord Ganesha.

Mr. Makwana’s work continues to inspire many households to adopt meaningful and creative ways of celebrating festivals, blending tradition with innovation.
