Amid the deadly grip of the coronavirus pandemic, the Government of Maharashtra established the BKC Jumbo COVID Hospital at MMRDA Grounds, BKC, Mumbai, as a state-of-the-art medical facility dedicated to providing free treatment and support to COVID-19 patients.

Under the leadership of Dean Dr. Rajesh Dere, this comprehensive center offered a wide range of advanced medical services all under one roof, including a dialysis unit, Container Patho Lab (VITAL), CT in a Box, HMIS, HDU, Medbot & Footbot post-COVID OPD, Diet Software, and a vaccination center.

Since its inception, BKC Jumbo has successfully treated more than 26,000 patients, achieving one of the lowest mortality rates during the pandemic. This outstanding achievement was officially recognized as a new record on April 11, 2022, marking a remarkable milestone in Maharashtra’s fight against COVID-19.
