“In Just 8 Hours, the Lives of 892 Differently-Abled People Transformed — A New World Record with the CM’s Heartfelt Words”

In a landmark event that blended compassion with action, 892 differently-abled individuals received assistive devices and life-enhancing support in just 8 hours, setting a new world record. The mega camp, organized under the state’s “Divyang Empowerment Mission,” took place at the Nehru Stadium in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and drew wide praise for its scale, coordination, and deep human impact.

The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who personally interacted with many beneficiaries. From wheelchairs and hearing aids to prosthetic limbs and digital learning tools, the distribution was swift, inclusive, and meticulously planned.

“This is not just a record,” the CM said during his address. “This is a celebration of strength, dignity, and the unbreakable spirit of our Divyang brothers and sisters. You are not less than anyone — you are extraordinary.”

The initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) and the Social Justice and Empowerment Department. Hundreds of medical professionals, volunteers, and district administrators ensured that each recipient was individually assessed and fitted with suitable aids.

Guinness World Records officials were present at the venue and confirmed the feat, stating that this was the largest distribution of assistive devices to differently-abled individuals in the shortest span of time, breaking a previous record set in China.

The recipients, many of whom traveled from remote villages, expressed overwhelming gratitude. Meena Verma, a 19-year-old from Khandwa who received a hearing aid, said,

“For the first time, I heard my mother call my name clearly. I will never forget this day.”

As the sun set over Indore, the stadium resonated not just with applause, but with hope. The state government has announced that similar camps will now be organized quarterly across all districts, ensuring no one is left behind.

This remarkable day proved that with political will, community participation, and inclusive vision, even a few hours can change hundreds of lives forever.
