Rise Robotics has developed the Super Jammer, an all-electric robotic arm that recently demonstrated the ability to lift 2,930 kg (approximately 6,460 lbs) to a height of 4.6 meters (15 feet), effectively lifting a Ford F-250 pickup truck. This achievement positions the Super Jammer to surpass the current Guinness World Record for the strongest non-hydraulic robotic arm, held by Fanuc’s M-2000iA/2300, which has a lifting capacity of 2,300 kg (5,070 lbs).
The Super Jammer utilizes Rise Robotics’ proprietary “Beltdraulic” technology, which replaces traditional hydraulic systems with a belt and pulley mechanism powered by electric motors. This design offers several advantages, including increased energy efficiency—claiming reductions in power or fuel consumption by 65-90%—and enhanced durability, potentially outlasting the machines in which they are installed.
An official attempt to secure the Guinness World Record is scheduled for March 20, 2025, at Union Square in Somerville, Massachusetts.
