Pakistani tennis player Talha Waheed has set a new Guinness World Record for the most successful tennis serves in one minute. On November 8, 2024, in Lahore, Waheed delivered 59 successful serves within 60 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 42 set by American John Perry in 2019.
Waheed, 47, has a distinguished background in senior tennis, having secured multiple national titles in the 35+, 40+, and 45+ doubles categories. Internationally, he achieved a career-high ranking of 144 in the 40+ doubles category. Motivated by the existing record, Waheed underwent an intensive three-month training regimen before attempting the record.
The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, lauded Waheed’s accomplishment, stating, “This is exactly the boost Pakistani tennis needs.” PTF officials and players also extended their congratulations, recognizing the achievement as a significant inspiration for young athletes in the country.
Guinness World Records officially confirmed Waheed’s record on March 10, 2025, acknowledging his remarkable feat in the sport of tennis.
