Kannur girl bags records by drawing large painting of Ardhanareeswaran

A girl has obtained several records by drawing a huge painting of Ardhanareeswaran (composite form of God Siva and Goddess Parvathy depicted as a half-male and half-female figure).

Parassinikkadavu native Snamya Chandran bagged the India Book of Record and Asia Book of Record’s Grand Master title for the largest painting of Ardhanareeswaran……

The mural painting was drawn using acrylic paint on a large canvas that has a height of 8 feet and width of 6 feet. It took about five months to complete the painting.

Snamya is a visual media graduate. She is daughter of Mambala native Chandradas and Sobha.

In addition to Snamya Chandran’s achievement, other artists from Kannur have also gained recognition for their exceptional artworks:

  • Anu Riya P: A Class XI student from Madayi Government Girls School in Pazhayangadi, Kannur, Anu Riya has been painting since the age of three. She created a 64-square-foot mural of ‘The Last Supper’ using five colors, completed during her holidays after Class 10 exams. This accomplishment secured her spots in both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records. Her portfolio includes murals of Madayi Kavilamma, Nataraja, Buddha, Radha-Madhavam, Ganapathi, St. Mary with infant Jesus, scenes from the Bhagavad Gita, and Ardhanareeswaran.
  • Also from Kannur, Nandana set a record for creating the smallest Theyyam painting using acrylic colors.
  • Vinil K. P.: On May 17, 2021, Vinil K. P. from Kannur achieved the world record for the biggest painting of a jackfruit tree on cloth.

These artists exemplify the rich cultural heritage and artistic talent present in Kannur, contributing significantly to the art scene both locally and nationally.
