Garigipati Jhaswik Sriyan, a five-year-old wonder kid from Chandarlapadu, has earned global recognition by entering the World Book of Records for his exceptional memory and learning abilities.
Jhaswik’s journey began at the age of two, when his parents – G. Ramakrishna, a police sub-inspector, and G. Devayani, a pharmacologist and homemaker – noticed his exceptional curiosity. Within a year, he had memorised 60 animals, 23 vegetables, 40 English rhymes, the Indian pledge, Vandemataram, the national anthem, and several Sanskrit devotional slokas including the Gayatri Mantra, Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, and Hanuman Dandakam. His knowledge soon expanded to sea animals, insects, flowers, vehicles, professions, musical instruments, and sports.
Encouraged by his parents, Jhaswik explored problem-solving through puzzles, quickly progressing from simple to highly complex ones. His talent was recognised on December 21, 2022, when Abdul Kalam World Records honoured him with the title Extraordinary Grasping Power Genius Kid. On January 17, 2023, he received the Genius Kid Award from the India Book of Records, followed by multiple other accolades.
On May 8, 2023, Jhaswik set an India and Asia Book of Records feat by becoming the fastest kid to solve 50 jigsaw puzzles in just 5 minutes. He also rearranged an astounding 553 jigsaw pieces in 59 minutes, a record acknowledged by the India Book of Records on April 7, 2023.
Beyond academics and puzzles, Jhaswik shines in creative pursuits such as slime preparation, toy-making, and painting. He is currently learning Kuchipudi dance and Karate at St. Lucy School in Mangalapalli.
With his remarkable achievements at such a young age, Jhaswik stands as a shining example that talent, when nurtured with love and encouragement, knows no limits.
