The Border Security Force (BSF) motorcycle stunt team has set multiple records riding Royal Enfield motorcycles. The daring team achieved the record for the longest ride with two people on a 12-foot 9-inch ladder. Additionally, a female inspector rode a motorcycle while standing for over six hours, covering more than 175 kilometers — the longest recorded ride of its kind. Two bikers came close to another BSF record by riding over 80 kilometers without brakes for more than two hours. All these achievements have been recorded in the Limca Book of Records.
The first record was set by BSF’s Daredevil Motorcycle Team members Inspector Awadhesh Kumar Singh and Captain Sudhakar. They achieved the record for the longest ride with two people on top of a 12.9-foot ladder mounted on a Royal Enfield 350cc motorcycle. On December 16, during BSF’s Vijay Diwas celebrations at the 25th Battalion BSF Campus, Chhawla, New Delhi, they covered a distance of 174.1 kilometers in 5 hours and 26 minutes.
The second record was set by BSF Daredevil Motorcycle Team member Inspector Vishwajit Bhatia. He achieved this feat by riding a Royal Enfield motorcycle while lying down on its seat. On the same day as the previous record, he covered a distance of 70.2 kilometers in 2 hours and 6 minutes without applying brakes, setting the record for the longest ride while lying down on a Royal Enfield motorcycle.
The third record was set by BSF’s women’s motorcycle team Seema Bhawani’s captain, Inspector Himanshu Sirohi. She achieved the record for standing the longest on the side bracket of a Royal Enfield 350cc motorcycle. She maintained this position for 6 hours and 3 minutes, covering a distance of 178.6 kilometers.
Every year on January 26, BSF’s motorcycle stunt team regularly participates in the Republic Day Parade. The Daredevil team was formed in 1990.
