In a heart‑touching story of courage and compassion, 10‑year‑old Shravan Singh from Chak Tara Wali village in Ferozepur, Punjab has been awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2025 by President Droupadi Murmu for his exceptional support to Indian Army personnel during Operation Sindoor. During the tense military operation along the India–Pakistan border, Shravan — barely two kilometres from the frontline — selflessly carried water, milk, tea, lassi and ice to soldiers stationed near his village, ensuring they stayed refreshed despite harsh conditions.
Earlier this year, the Indian Army had recognised Shravan as its “Youngest Civil Warrior” in appreciation of his dedication and unwavering spirit in supporting the troops during the operation.Shravan’s remarkable service earned praise from military officials and civic leaders alike, with the Army’s Golden Arrow Division pledging to sponsor his education, underscoring the deep bond between the armed forces and local communities.
Speaking after receiving the prestigious national award in New Delhi, Shravan said he felt “great” to be honoured and that his simple act of serving soldiers came from the heart. He also expressed his dream of one day becoming a soldier himself. Shravan’s story has resonated across India, celebrated as a powerful example of patriotism, bravery and selfless service that transcends age.
