In a stunning display of endurance, dedication, and determination, two Cornish golfers have completed an astonishing 184 holes of golf in just under 24 hours — all in the name of charity and with hopes of setting a new Guinness World Record.
Ross Lawrance and Nicolas Brewaeys teed off at 11:00 GMT on Sunday at the West Cornwall Golf Club in Lelant and played continuously — even through the night — finally completing their challenge in 21 hours and 45 minutes on the course.
Using a combination of floodlights and head torches to light their way, the duo braved changing weather, darkness, and fatigue. Club members provided critical support, helping them locate balls and offering refreshments during the marathon.
“It was exhausting but totally worth it,” said Ross Lawrance. “Knowing we were raising money for such an important cause kept us going.”
Their incredible feat has already raised over £5,500 for Prostate Cancer UK, and they now await official confirmation from Guinness World Records on whether their effort sets a new benchmark for the most holes played in 24 hours by a pair.
“We wanted to do something epic — and I think we did just that,” added Brewaeys, smiling after completing the final hole.
The golf club and local community have hailed the effort as inspirational, with several members calling it a “once-in-a-lifetime event” that demonstrated the power of sport for good.
