Airbnb Kicks Off World Cup Festivities in Houston with Record-Breaking Soccer Ball Line

In a vibrant celebration ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Airbnb teamed up with local organizers in Houston to set a Guinness World Record for the longest line of soccer balls.

The record-breaking event took place at Hermann Park, where participants arranged 1,036 soccer balls in a continuous line—surpassing the minimum requirement of 1,000 balls set by Guinness World Records.

Organized in collaboration with the FIFA World Cup 2026 Houston Host Committee, the initiative was designed to build excitement and community engagement ahead of the global tournament. Houston is set to host multiple World Cup matches, making it one of the key cities for the event.

Beyond breaking records, the event carried a strong community focus. Many of the soccer balls used in the attempt will be donated to youth programs, helping expand access to the sport for underserved communities.

Officials described the moment as more than just a record attempt. “It’s about bringing people together and celebrating the spirit of the game,” organizers noted, emphasizing the role of such events in creating lasting social impact.
