A breathtaking fusion of artistry, devotion, and sheer metallic volume has resulted in a new record, as an 18-foot-tall (5.5 meter) statue of Lord Shri Ram, crafted entirely from Indian currency coins, was unveiled in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh.
The magnificent structure, painstakingly built using approximately 1.5 lakh (150,000) coins of ₹1, ₹5, and ₹10 denominations, has officially been recognized and recorded in both the Asia Book of World Records and the India Book of World Records.
The colossal statue is a profound display of dedication, merging traditional iconography with contemporary material art.

The artisans used a combination of clay modeling, fiber, iron structure, and finally, meticulously affixed the massive collection of coins to create the towering form of Lord Ram. The resultant structure represents a significant investment in both financial and human capital.
The impressive statue was unveiled by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak at a local shopping destination. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pathak praised the achievement, stating, “India is known for its rich culture and spirituality, and this statue adds a new chapter to that legacy. Lord Ram is revered by all, and this work of art reflects the profound faith of our people.”
The coin-based monument is expected to be a major cultural attraction, drawing large crowds and serving as a centerpiece for local cultural celebrations leading up to the festival of Diwali. This record-breaking sculpture not only highlights the talent of Indian artisans but also symbolizes the unique ways in which devotion is expressed through art in the modern era.
